Weekend Fun

So I complained to hubby that we haven't done anything exciting in the past couple of months and he suggested that we go to Charleston, hit the beach and then catch a Riverdogs Game on Saturday. I didn't realize until we were at the game, that the Riverdogs was actually a farm team for the NY Yankees. Please forgive me fellow Red Sox fans, I was completely unaware. The game only lasted until the 4th Inning, because a storm rolled through, but that was enough time for me to enjoy some libations. Because the game was called before the 5th Inning we get to come back to any other game, we just have to present our tickets form this one. Not a bad deal, we have to come back later this month.

This is us shortly before the rain started really coming down. Jon wore the free hat they handed out to us on the way in.

Before & After

The only other thing that I have been working on this summer is my weight loss. I am finally seeing some progress. Today I weighed in at 143 lbs. which has got to be the lowest I have ever been in my adult life. I am still follwoing the Six Week Body Makeover for the most part but have made some adjustments so I will stick with it long term. I've mostly just started to add some low sodium dairy and fiber cereals here and there. I've been running about 5 times a week and I am up to running/jogging 7 miles (I do that 2 days a week and run about 3-4 miles the other days in addition to some weight training).

I had hubby take a picture of me today after he had made a comment after looking at some pictures from this past April. He said, "Holy Cow, I didn't realize you have lost so much weight!"

Here's me from a picture taken in Memphis:

These were taken today. The shorts I am wearing were bought less than a month ago and are already too big!

I still have about 12 - 15 lbs. to lose. Wish me luck!

House Update

Sorry I haven't been writing lately. There just hasn't been much going on. Its summer, its hot. We are not doing anything exciting, much less traveling than we did last year because we are saving our pennies until we close on the house. Which should be in August, by the way. Here are some pictures that we took today. Its coming along, but I still think our realitor is on crack thinking we are going to be able to close by mid-August!

This is looking into what will be our living room from the kitchen. We have a fireplace!

This is looking into our kitchen from the "breakfast nook".

This is looking up at the landing at the top of our stairs from the livingroom. Its hard to imagine all this without doors, cabinets, railings and banisters. But they should be coming soon and I will post more pictures as the house gets finished. The house will have 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. The master bedroom is downstairs and is HUGE! The backyard will also be bigger than I originally thought. I plan to "built" a back patio with brick or stone and have a nice outside eating area eventually.

Our neighborhood is going to be really nice. The realitor told us that there are a lot of young couples like us and a friend of mine from work and her husband have a house on the same street about 8 houses down. The community does have a pool that we will have access to and we are across the street from a large community park with baseball and soccer fields.
